Washing tower is a new type of gas purification treatment equipment. It is improved on the basis of a floating packing layer gas purifier and is widely used in pre-treatment of industrial waste gas purification, dust removal, and other aspects, with good purification effects. For coal gasification process, gas washing is inevitable, and this unit operation is used in all coal gasification technologies. Due to its working principle similar to the washing process, it is named the washing tower.
A washing tower is similar to a distillation tower, consisting of a tower body, a tray, a reboiler, and a condenser. Due to the fact that washing towers are equipment for crude separation, the number of trays is generally small and usually does not exceed ten levels. The washing tower is suitable for separating mixed gases containing a small amount of dust. Each component will not react, and the product should be easy to liquefy. Impurities such as dust (also known as high boiling substances) are not easy to liquefy or solidify. When the mixed gas enters the washing tower from the middle of the washing tower, due to the presence of product component liquids between the trays, the product component gases liquefy while evaporating, while impurities cannot be liquefied or solidified. When passing through the trays with liquid present, they will be fixed by the product component liquids, producing a washing effect. The washing tower is designed and manufactured based on this principle.
